Two hurt as car hits trees then bursts into flames

A car burst into flames after hitting a tree – leaving two men in their 20s in need of hospital care.

However, both managed to escape the black BMW before it set alight, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene near Bideford in Devon about 19:50 BST on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the force said the car had left the road, hit trees and then re-joined the main carriageway on the A386 before the vehicle later burst into flames.
