A cleaner is celebrating after marking half a century working with the NHS in Nottinghamshire.

Pauline Roebuck, who is employed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust, first walked through the doors on 30 April 1975.

Based at Duncan Macmillan House (DMH) in Mapperley, the 67-year-old said she had enjoyed "the camaraderie, the laughs, and the rewarding nature of the job".

A ceremony to mark her 50th anniversary was held by the trust.

Ms Roebuck said she began working on the Cavel Ward at DMH when her mother also worked at the site.

"Over the years, I've seen so many changes, both in the buildings and across the NHS, [and] I've worked across different sites," she said.

"I've loved my 50 years here, and I'm proud to say I'm carrying on – no stopping yet, even beyond retirement."

Ifti Majid, chief executive of the trust, said: "Pauline has been a familiar and friendly face at DMH for five decades, and her 50 years of service is a truly remarkable achievement.

"Her kindness, dedication, and hard work have made a lasting impression on everyone who's had the pleasure of working alongside her."
